Dr. Yekoyealem Desie is an associate professor of developmental and educational psychology with more than two decades of experience in teaching, research, training, and community engagement. He has served in different leadership capacities as program coordinator, associate dean, and college dean. Yekoyealem is a member of the education advisory council for the Ministry of Education. He took part in the development of the Ethiopian education and training roadmap. Yekoyealem’s research focuses on the education and development of youth in difficult circumstances, migration and youth, and media and youth development. Yekoyealem is a member of different professional associations like ISSBD, AERA, and NOCIES. He was a visiting scholar at the Ohio State University, USA, and the University of Bergen, Norway.
