Abera Tibebu, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at Addis Ababa University (AAU). He received his PhD and MA in Social Psychology from AAU and BED in Pedagogical Science from Bahir Dar University. His research interest focuses on social cognition, protection motivation, optimism, planned behavior, psychosocial support/interventions and self-discipline. He has conducted research on gender based violence, psychosocial adjustment of migrants, and the nexus between gender, migration and quality of education. Currently, Abera is interested to understand theoretical and practical aspects of gender dynamics in the context of mass violence, conflict, peacebuilding, displacement and migration.
